Escrow and Risk Mitigation
We understand the concern about paying a factory you've never met. That's why we offer escrow services through third-party platforms like Alibaba Trade Assurance or Payoneer Escrow. The fee is typically 2–3% of the order value, split between buyer and seller. Alternatively, we can do a progressive payment plan: 30% deposit, 40% after production photos, 30% before shipment.
Currency and Exchange Rate
All our quotes are in USD. We do not accept RUB due to volatility. However, we can hold the price for 30 days after quote acceptance. For long-term partnerships, we can negotiate a 6-month fixed price if you commit to minimum 10,000 pairs per year.
Shipping Methods: Sea, Rail, and Air
Sea Freight: Most Cost-Effective
For bulk orders, sea freight is the way to go. From Shanghai or Ningbo to Vladivostok takes 7–10 days. To St. Petersburg via the Suez Canal takes 30–35 days. A 20-foot container holds about 8,000–10,000 pairs of casual shoes (depending on box size). Cost: $2,500–$4,000 per container to Vladivostok, $3,500–$5,500 to St. Petersburg.
Rail Freight: Faster than Sea, Cheaper than Air
China-Europe rail is a strong option for Russia. From Yiwu or Xi'an to Moscow takes 12–16 days. Cost: $6,000–$9,000 per container. Rail is ideal for mid-range orders (2,000–5,000 pairs) where you need speed but can't justify air freight.
Air Freight: For Urgent or Small Orders
Air freight is best for samples or small replenishment orders. From Guangzhou to Moscow takes 3–5 days. Cost: $5–$8 per kg. A 500 kg shipment (about 500 pairs) costs $2,500–$4,000. We recommend air only for orders under 1,000 pairs.
Incoterms and Customs Clearance
Recommended Incoterms
For Russian buyers, we suggest FOB (Free on Board) or CIF (Cost, Insurance, Freight). With FOB, you handle shipping and insurance; with CIF, we handle it up to the Russian port. We do not offer DDP (Delivered Duty Paid) because customs clearance in Russia requires local presence. However, we can recommend reliable customs brokers in Moscow and Vladivostok.
Customs Documentation
We provide all standard export documents: commercial invoice, packing list, bill of lading (or air waybill), certificate of origin, and export license if needed. For Russia, you'll also need a customs value declaration and GOST-R certification for certain shoe types (e.g., safety footwear). We can help you obtain GOST-R through our partner lab in Guangzhou. Cost: $500–$1,500 per product category, valid for 1–3 years.
Lead Times and MOQ
Minimum Order Quantities
Our MOQ is 500 pairs per style for standard designs (sneakers, sandals). For boots or high-top shoes, MOQ is 300 pairs. If you need lower MOQ, we can do mixed containers — combine multiple styles to reach 1,000 pairs total. This adds 5–7 days to production.
Production Lead Time
Standard lead time is 30–45 days from deposit receipt. Rush orders (20–25 days) incur a 10% surcharge. Sample production takes 7–10 days, and sample shipping via courier (DHL, FedEx) takes 3–5 days to Russia. Sample cost: $50–$150 per pair, refundable with bulk order.
