Introduction

You’re looking for a Chinese shoe factory to produce your own brand. You want control over materials, design, and quality — not just picking from a catalog. That’s OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturing) or ODM (Original Design Manufacturing). We are MOHE, a factory with production sites in Wenzhou, Putian, and Guangzhou. We make shoes for brands in 30+ countries. This guide tells you how we work, so you can make informed decisions.

MOQ, Lead Time & Pricing

Minimum Order Quantities

MOQ depends on the shoe type and complexity. For a standard casual shoe or sneaker, our MOQ is 600 pairs per style per color. For sandals or simple slippers, it can drop to 300 pairs. For high-end leather shoes or boots, expect 1,000 pairs. We can negotiate lower MOQs for repeat orders or if you combine multiple styles into one production run.

Lead Times

From confirmed sample to shipment, plan for 45–60 days for a first order. This includes:

Repeat orders can be faster — 30–40 days if materials are in stock.

Pricing

Prices are FOB from our factory. Example ranges (per pair, USD):

These are estimates. Final price depends on materials, sole type, packaging, and quantity. We provide a detailed quote after reviewing your tech pack.

The OEM/ODM Process

Step 1: Tech Pack & Design

You send us a tech pack — sketches, measurements, material specs, construction details. If you don’t have one, we can help create it (ODM service). We have an in-house design team that can develop a shoe from a reference image or idea. This includes 2D drawings and 3D renderings.

Step 2: Sample Development

We make a first sample (A-sample) for fit and design approval. You pay a sample fee (usually $50–$150 per style, refundable with production order). We ship it to you for wear testing. After feedback, we make a second sample (B-sample) with corrections. For complex shoes, we may need a third sample.

Step 3: Material & Color Approval

We source materials according to your specs. You receive material swatches and color cards for approval. We can match Pantone colors. For leather, we provide a sample piece from the actual batch. This step is critical — we don’t start production until you sign off.

Step 4: Production & Quality Control

Once samples and materials are approved, we schedule production. We produce a pre-production sample (PP sample) from the first production run to confirm everything is correct. During production, our QC team inspects at three stages:

Step 5: Shipment

We pack according to your requirements — individual boxes, poly bags, or bulk. We can arrange FOB from Shanghai, Ningbo, or Xiamen. We also offer CIF if you prefer.

Materials & Construction

Sourcing

We have long-term relationships with tanneries in Guangdong, fabric mills in Zhejiang, and sole manufacturers in Fujian. This gives us better pricing and consistent quality. For custom materials, we can source from your nominated suppliers.

Common Materials

We can also do special treatments — waterproof, anti-slip, anti-static, etc.

Quality & Compliance

Testing

We can arrange lab testing for physical and chemical properties (e.g., ISO, SATRA, ASTM). Common tests include:

Testing costs are usually $50–$200 per style, depending on the number of tests.

Certifications

We are ISO 9001 certified. We can also provide BSCI audit reports if needed. For specific markets (e.g., EU, US), we ensure compliance with local regulations.

Common Mistakes to Avoid

Conclusion

OEM shoe production in China is straightforward if you work with an experienced factory. At MOHE, we handle everything from design to shipping. We’re direct — no middlemen. If you have a project, send us your tech pack or design idea. We’ll give you a clear quote and timeline within 48 hours.
